The saws were buzzing as a great Norway spruce from the Hudson Valley was cut down to take the center stage at Rockefeller Center as this year's sparkling Christmas tree. The tree, in the village of Florida in Orange County, graced the front yard of Carol Schultz, who hugged the tree before the cutting began. It was cut down around 9 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 7. Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree From Hudson Valley Arrives In Manhattan
The Hudson Valley will have a prominent and permanent presence throughout the holiday season in midtown Manhattan. This year's Rockefeller Center Christmas tree has arrived in Manhattan from Orange County. The Norway Spruce, the property of a farmhouse in the hamlet of Wallkill in the Town of Newburgh, was cut down on Thursday, Nov. 8 before arriving in New York City on Saturday, Nov. 10 via a flatbed truck.
