New Suspect From Area Nabbed In Connection To Jan. 6 Insurrection
A man arrested in the Hudson Valley over the summer for an alleged robbery is now facing charges for his alleged role in the Jan. 6 insurrection at the US Capitol in Washington, D.C.
In June, Anthony Vuksanaj, a Putnam County resident, was arrested in Westchester for his role in a robbery, which led investigators to his cellphone, which was present during the Jan. 6 riot, according to court records.
This week, the 52-year-old was arrested by federal officials in his Mahopac home in the town of Carmel, in advance of his appearance in White Plains federal court on Thursday, Sept. 30.

Area Woman Charged In Fatal Hit-Run Crash Had Earlier DWI Charge, Police Say
A local woman who was arrested for a hit-and-run crash that killed a man outside a lakefront home in the area was arrested two months ago for DWI and was due to have her license suspended in several days.
Maggie DePerna, age 37, of Mahopac was charged on Saturday, June 26, with vehicular manslaughter, and two counts of DWI (she was reportedly driving drunk when arrested) in the hit-and-run death in Mahopac of James Crecco, of Carmel, on Friday, June 25, said the Putnam County Sheriff's Office.

Maggie Deperna, age 37, was arrested Saturday, June 26, by the Putnam County Sheriff's Office in connection to the crash that happened a day earlier in Mahopac.

Hudson Valley Man Killed In Single-Vehicle Crash In Connecticut
A New York man was killed after losing control of his vehicle and slamming into a metal guardrail in Connecticut.
The victim, Putnam County resident Gabriel Ramos, age 34, of Carmel, was traveling northbound on I-91in North Haven around 10 p.m., Wednesday, June 23, when the crash happened, said the Connecticut State Police.
According to police, lost control of his 2005 Kawasaki motorcycle and hit a metal beam guardrail, and was thrown from the bike.
He was transported with life-threatening injuries to Yale-New Haven Hospital where he later died.
