Former Hockey Player From Fairfield County Dies At Age 23
Family and friends are mourning the death of a former standout hockey goalie from the region. Fairfield County native Charlie Capalbo, age 23, of the town of Fairfield, died Sunday, April 24, following a five-year battle with cancer, according to a GoFundMe page established for his family. “After five years and 745 nights spent in hospitals, let’s just say that one got by Charlie in the 4th overtime today,” reads a post from GoFundMe organizer John McCormick. High School Student In Hudson Valley Dies After Brave Battle With Cancer
A Hudson Valley high school student who lived in Connecticut has died at the age of 16 after he was diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer. Matthew Dooley died at his home on Wednesday, Jan. 5, following his battle with a glioblastoma brain tumor, according to his obituary. He is survived by his parents, Michael and Jane Dooley, his sisters, his grandmother and his uncles. A pair of research professor, the founder of a public relations firm and the head coach of the varsity basketball team top this year’s New Rochelle Wall of Fame honorees.
