Popular Pizza Guru Reviews 4 Eateries In Eastchester, Pelham: These Were Their Scores

Famed pizza guru and Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy has suddenly found himself becoming a big fan of Westchester pizza after reviewing four establishments in the county.

Portnoy, a self-proclaimed pizza expert who travels around the country reviewing pizzerias for his "One Bite Pizza Reviews" YouTube channel and scores them on a scale of one to ten, visited four eateries in Eastchester, Tuckahoe, and Pelham between Wednesday, Oct. 18 and Monday, Oct. 23.

The four pizzerias reviewed by Portnoy and their scores were:

Polpettina, located in Eastchester at 102 Fisher Ave.: 8.2

In his review, Portnoy called this establishment's pie "really good," and also praised its crispiness and thinness.

"Maybe it should have been an 8.4," Portnoy added in a later video, saying, "I ate the whole thing, I couldn't stop eating."

Cosimo & Johnny's Pizzeria, located in Eastchester at 330 White Plains Rd.: 7.4

Portnoy raved about this pizzeria's pie, praising its thinness and its flavor.

"This has got a little kick to it, I love the texture," Portnoy said in his review, continuing, "Super crispy, super thin, giving some bite."

Roma Restaurant, located in Tuckahoe at 29 Columbus Ave.: 7.9

After speaking with this eatery's owner and learning that the place dates back to 1931 and has been run by several generations of the same family, Portnoy became a big fan of the pizzeria.

"It's a family atmosphere," he said in his review, adding, "The story is amazing."

After trying the pizza, Portnoy not only fell in love with the restaurant's vibe and history but also its food.

"It's football pizza, really good. I love this place," he said.

Pizza Fenice, located in Pelham at 304 Fifth Ave.: 7.8

Upon trying this establishment's pizza, Portnoy said it was "a little on the artsy side."

"It's really good, but it's like, I want to be able to hammer 5,000 slices and keep going. This one I wouldn't be able to do it," Portnoy remarked during his review, adding, "Still great pizza."

"This one definitely has more pizzazz," he continued.

As a result of his string of Westchester reviews, Portnoy said the county's pies have stood out to him much more than Long Island pizzas.

"This Westchester pizza...it's all thin, crispy, and great," Portnoy said, before potentially stoking controversy with Long Island residents:

"If I were a Long Island mayor, I'd be like, we're packing up, we're spending a week in Westchester just studying their pizza," Portnoy said.
