The county Department of Public Safety will take over dispatching and communications duties for the Tuckahoe police between midnight and 7:40 a.m. daily starting Dec. 3, saving the village $280,000, LoHud.com reported. Calls also will go to the county, which will dispatch Tuckahoe officers, LoHud.com reported.
The nighttime cooperation, the first of its kind in Westchester, was announced Friday by County Executive Rob Astorino, Legislator Sheila Marcotte and Tuckahoe police Chief John Costanzo, LoHud.com reported.
