'Uncle Meg' Bianchi, 94, Eastchester Shop Owner

EASTCHESTER, N.Y. – Amerigo "Uncle Meg" Bianchi, formerly of Eastchester, died June 19 in Hastings-on-Hudson. He was 94. 

Born May 14, 1918, Bianchi was a World War II veteran and Silver Star recipient. He owned several small businesses, including a Texaco station, and Carafiello's and Uncle Meg's Too Restaurant in Eastchester. He was married to the former Catherine Evangelista, who predeceased him. 

Bianchi is survived by two daughters, Linda (Joe) Gordon and Maria (Mark) Crandell; two sisters, Bianca Carraturo and Angelo "Mimi" Bianchi; and five grandchildren. 

Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Westchester Funeral Home in Eastchester. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Gus Badgley officiating. Burial will follow at Ferncliff Mausoleum.
