Eastchester Motorists Advised of Closures on Parkway

YONKERS, N.Y. – Westchester County residents are advised that from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on June 19, two southbound lanes on the Bronx River Parkway and one southbound lane on the Sprain Brook Parkway will be closed.

The county will shut down the stretch of road between DeWitt and Midland avenues in Yonkers. Major delays are anticipated on the Sprain Brook Parkway, with minor delays on the Bronx River Parkway. Motorists are encouraged to seek alternate routes.

Motorists are asked to use caution while traveling through the work zones, and to pay particular attention to all traffic control devices such as work zone signs and flaggers.

Fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. Further, in accordance with the state's Work Zone Safety Act of 2005, convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of the driver’s license.
