Eastchester Town Board To Honor Little League Teams

EASTCHESTER, N.Y. – The Eastchester Town Board will celebrate the Little League all-star baseball and softball teams that were crowned District 20 champions this summer at its meeting Tuesday.

Prior to Tuesday’s board meeting, the teams — both of which nearly captured a Section 4 title — will be honored for their hard work last season. The teams initially were scheduled to be celebrated at the Sept. 4 board meeting, which had to be cancelled for emergency repairs to Town Hall.

Following that presentation, the board will discuss a number of items, including a resolution authorizing the settlement of a claim by Sompo Japan Insurance Co., as well as a settlement of the judicial review proceeding by Ted Hermann’s Realty.

The board will introduce a proposed local law that would potentially delay restaurant applications within the town.

The comptroller will speak about budget transfers, and the board will discuss bids about the town’s tree service contract. Before the meeting is adjourned, each council member and Supervisor Anthony Colavita will give reports on various town happenings.
