According to President Barack Obama, it remains unclear what or who caused the explosions at the finish line of the marathon course.

Tuckahoe resident Sue Gleason said she couldn’t believe her eyes when she saw video of the explosions.

“The Boston Marathon is supposed to be something to celebrate. Your heart just breaks for everyone there,” she said. “It could have been so much worse, I just hope everyone is alright.”

According to the Boston Marathon entry list, four Bronxville residents were entered in the race. Mary Mackintosh, Roberto Mignone, David Pasquale and Jean Vendice were all registered in the race.

“It’s scary to think, it can happen anywhere, and New York hosts a lot of events,” Bronxville resident Chris Trainia said. “The pictures that are out there are horrific.”
