Alleged Domestic Dispute Ends in Arrest in Eastchester

EASTCHESTER, N.Y. – A domestic disturbance involving a couple who were house-sitting in Eastchester resulted in an arrest after the husband shoved Eastchester police officers, police said.

Police answered a call on Corwood Road just after 1 a.m. Tuesday from a woman who said her husband was drunk and that she feared for her and her child's safety, according to Eastchester Police Lt. Robert Jensen. When officers arrived, they tried to interview the couple. But the woman said she wanted to leave with their child, and the husband tried to physically prevent her from going.

When police intervened, the man, whose identity was withheld to protect the victim's identity, tried to push past them to prevent his wife from fleeing. The man, a 32-year-old resident of Hoboken, N.J., was arrested and charged with misdemeanor obstruction of the administration of government. He was arraigned and released on recognizance with a temporary order of protection for his wife and child.
