Hundreds of dresses in all sizes, styles and colors will be available to low-income students for one dollar each, from 12 to 2 p.m. on Sunday at Lisa Vitiello’s State Farm Insurance agency on White Plains Road in Eastchester.
“Our generous donors provide us with a wide variety of styles for students to choose from,” Noel D’Allacco, the founder of Operation PROM, said.
“We want to ensure that each girl wears the dress that she feels the most beautiful in.”
There will also be a limited number of wedding dresses available for a $25 donation. All sales are cash-and-carry.
Operation PROM - a national nonprofit based in Bronxville - has provided access to this high school rite of passage since it was founded in 2005. The organization collects gently used prom gowns and tuxedos, and then gives them away to students that would not be able to otherwise afford them.
