Ardsley Realtor Hosts Bingo and Mah Jongg To Fight Breast Cancer

ARDSLEY, N.Y. — When she was diagnosed with breast cancer three years ago, Debra Tricarico’s goal was to survive. Now, her goal is to find a cure.

On Oct. 11, the real estate broker at Houlihan Lawrence in Ardsley will host her third annual Mah Jongg and Bingo Night to fund her fight against breast cancer. Proceeds from the event at Atria Woodlands in Ardsley will be donated to the American Cancer Society.

The Ardsley resident hopes the Mah Jongg and Bingo Night will raise $20,000 for the organization. Last year, the event garnered $14,000.

“I can’t correct my scars, but it’s worth it for me to help find a cure for my children and grandchildren,” said Tricarico.

Local businesses have already shown support for her mission. Tuckahoe restaurants Angelina’s Ristorante and Olde Stone Mill as well as Hartsdale’s Tuscany Café will be providing food and gift certificates at the event.

Tricarico said she hopes her friends and family will also show their support by walking with her Oct. 21 at the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk-a-thon in Purchase, NY.

“Going through treatments, I met so many people who are not as fortunate as I was, and in the past three years, I’ve had a daughter, sister and aunt who have been affected by cancer,” Tricarico said. “I want to make a difference for someone else.”
