What's Happening Around Eastchester This Weekend?

EASTCHESTER, N.Y. – The local public libraries will be the home of most of this weekend’s events for residents around Eastchester and Bronxville. Tuckahoe teenagers will have an opportunity to showcase their talents at the community center Saturday night. For a complete listing of local and county events, see our calendar.

Friday, July 13

Story time: 11 a.m. There will be a story hour at the Tuckahoe Public Library for pre-school children. 71 Columbus Ave., Tuckahoe.

Film series: 1 p.m. The Eastchester Public Library will continue its film series, as it screens “Mirror Mirror,” starring Julia Roberts. Runtime is 106 minutes. 11 Oakridge Place, Eastchester.

Family film: 3:30-4:30 p.m. The Bronxville Public Library will present “Pecos Bill,” a 49-minute movie for children and families. The film will be in the Yeager Room. 201 Pondfield Road, Bronxville.

Salsa concert: 6:30 p.m. The sixth annual free “Jazz and Blues at Dusk” concert series is presented by the Yonkers Downtown Waterfront Business Improvement District. This week’s performer is “Willie Villegas Y Entre Amigos,” a salsa performer who will provide Latin music. 71 Water Grant St., Yonkers.

Saturday, July 14

Lego club: 10-11:30 a.m. A building club for children ages 5-12. Every participant will have the opportunity to build a Lego project based on a theme. This month’s theme is the Wild West. Bronxville Pubic Library, 201 Pondfield Road, Bronxville.

Anime club: 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Bronxville Library will screen an anime television show. Open to students in sixth grade and older. 201 Pondfield Road, Bronxville.

Teen talent show: 4:30-8:30 p.m. There will be a showcase at the Tuckahoe Community Center for talented teen performers. $5. 71 Columbus Ave., Tuckahoe (above the library).

Roller derby: 6 p.m. The County Clubbers will square off against the Indian Point Sirens on the flat track. Can the Clubbers maintain their championship trophy? $12. 348 Tuckahoe Road, Yonkers.
