On Saturday, students, parents and local residents can “walk for a cure” along the Bronx River to raise money for the Paul Luisi Foundation, which donates funds to local charities.

Check in for the fundraiser will be from 10:30 to 11 a.m. at the Parkway Oval in Tuckahoe. The 3-mile walk along the Bronx River will start promptly after the check-in duties.

There is no registration fee, but donations will be accepted during the event. All donations raised this year will be used to help the pediatric patients at the Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital at Westchester Medical Center.

The organization has raised nearly $200,000 for local causes, including $82,000 for the Pediatric Bone Marrow Transplant Program at the Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital and $70,000 for the Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation.
