The musical is based on the wildly successful 2001 movie, which is about a grumpy ogre and his attempts to be left alone after the familiar fairy-tale characters who inhabit the nearby kingdom invade his swamp.
Wanting his isolation, he strikes a deal with them to get their homes back. But while visiting with the evil Lord Farquaad, Farquaad will only let them return if Shrek rescues Princess Fiona from a dragon. And that's only the beginning of the story...
This all-ages musical will run Friday, April 17 and Saturday, April 18 at 7:30 p.m.,and April 19 at 2 p.m.
Tickets are on sale in the high school auditorium lobby from 3 to 5 p.m. on April 9, 10, and 13 through 19. Student tickets are $8, and adult tickets are $12. Phone reservations are available at 914-793-6130, ext. 4477. A sellout is expected.
