The film series will kick off at 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 3 with a free screening of "Girl Rising," a 2013 documentary that highlights international stories of young women striving to overcome cultural and economic barriers to education. Conversation will follow with the film’s executive producer Holly Gordon, named by Newsweek/Daily Beast as one of 125 Women of Impact.
More than a just a movie screening, the Sluberski Film Series events will offer the opportunity to experience cinema — from Hollywood to Bollywood, independent films to blockbusters — and engage with the artists who created them.
