Covid-19: Positive Trends Continue Despite Four Straight Days Of 700-Plus Deaths In New York There were more than 700 deaths due to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic for the fourth straight day in New York, but Gov. Andrew Cuomo said he is “cautiously optimistic” as the rate of hospitalizations slows. Cuomo called the drop in hospitalizations “dramatic” over the past three days, and the number of ICU patients was down for the first time, he reported at a news briefing on Friday, April 10 in Albany.
