Man Uses Knife To Steal Food At Cortlandt Supermarket, Police Say A 41-year-old man is behind bars after he used a knife to steal food at a supermarket in Northern Westchester, state police said. State Police responded to the Super Foodtown Supermarket on Albany Post Road in the town of Cortlandt for a report of a robbery on Thursday, Sept. 27 at about 2:45 p.m. An investigation found that Cortlandt resident Robert Patterson used a knife to forcibly steal food from the supermarket, state police said. Northern Westchester Man Facing Charges For Running Rent Scam On Immigrants A 43-year-old man is facing a series of felony charges for allegedly engaging in a rent scam targeting the immigrant community in Northern Westchester. Jeffrey Pena of Thornwood surrendered himself into police custody on Thursday, and has been arraigned on eight felony counts in a scheme to defraud immigrants in the area. Pena allegedly posted hand-written flyers in local businesses and told people he had an apartment available for rent, though he demanded rent money up front.
