Man Nabbed After Firing Round Into Apartment Above His In Westchester: Police A 34-year-old man has been hit with several charges after firing a round into the Westchester apartment above him with a defaced handgun, police announced. The arrest resulted from an incident on Sunday, Dec. 17 just before 7 p.m., when New Rochelle Police received a report that a gunshot had come through the floor of an apartment on Beechwood Ave., according to Captain J. Collins Coyne.  According to Coyne, the complainant told police that she had heard the shot around 12:30 a.m. earlier that day but had not seen the damage until later in the evening.  Detectives were then …

Hudson Valley Man Shoots, Kills Neighbor’s Dog, Police Say A 58-year-old man shot and killed his neighbor’s dog in the Hudson Valley, an investigation by State Police from the Poughkeepsie barracks revealed. State Police responded to Meddaugh Road in the town of LaGrange for a report of a dog shot on Jan. 28. An investigation determined Scott Messick of Pleasant Valley discharged a shotgun within 500 feet of nearby residences without permission and killed the dog. Messick was charged with aggravated cruelty to animals, a Class A misdemeanor, and illegal discharge of a firearm, an unclassified misdemeanor, on Friday, Feb. 9. Police have not release…
