Water Shutdown Scheduled For Stretch Of Croton-On-Hudson Homes There will be a temporary road closure and lack of water service in Croton-on-Hudson on Thursday as crews work to replace equipment in the area. The Croton-on-Hudson Water Department will be replacing a valve along Maple Street on Oct. 4, prompting a water shut off in the area of Maple Street and Old Post Road South. The shutdown is scheduled for approximately 7 p.m. on Thursday, and should last approximately two hours. Hydrant-Flushing May Lead To Discolored Water In Croton-On-Hudson Some Cortlandt residents may soon see some slight discoloration in their water as the Croton-on-Hudson Water Department prepares for its semi-annual hydrant flushing program. Beginning on Oct. 1, flushing will be performed from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. each weekday, and is expected to conclude after approximately four weeks. The Water Department will begin the flushing program at the Village well field on Route 129.
