World All-Tournament Baseball Team Ranks Cortlandt Boy Top Freshman Hitter

CORTLANDT, N.Y. -- Zachary Selinger of Cortlandt Manor was named to the WWBA Freshman World All-Tournament team and ranked as the top hitter at the national event held at Perfect Game in Emerson, Ga., from Oct. 16-19.

The national tournament consisted of the top 48 teams in the world with the highest ranked teams in the United States competing. More than 700 highly regarded freshman participated in the Tournament as it is considered the most prestigious tournament in the country for high school freshman. 

On Oct. 21, Perfect Game released the All-Tournament Team and rankings for hitters, which is based on first-hand observations of scouts and officials as well as statistical data. Not only was Zachary named to the All-Tournament team, he was ranked as the top freshman hitter. 

While playing for Team Citius USA, Zachary led the tournament in batting average, on base percentage and slugging percentage. Zachary plays locally for the Gators Baseball Club and expects to play for Kennedy Catholic High School in spring 2016.
