SHRUB OAK, N.Y. -- Shannon Scavelli scored two goals and Gab Celentano added a goal and an assist as second-seeded Lakeland defeated third-seeded Putnam Valley in a Section 1 Class B Field Hockey Championship semifinal, Friday.
Lakeland will play top-seeded Rye in the final, Sunday, 3 p.m., at Arlington High School. Lakeland is the two-time defending Section 1 and New York State champion. Gianna Bensaia had a goal, Emma Bozek collected two assists and Rebecca Bard had an assist.
