CORTLANDT -- Nine years after a group of avid ice hockey playe?r????s from Hendrick Hudson High School worked to form a club team, ?i?t? ?s?e?e?m?s? ??????????their original dream ha??s???????????????????????? become a reality -- ????they now represent? their school as ?a? sanctioned program in Section 1 athletics.?
???The Hen Hud Ice Hockey Club has had a long history of success over the years. Starting with ? a ?single ?Junior Varsity team? that won a championship ?d?u?r?i?n?g? ???????t?h?e? ?f?i?r?s?t?????????? year, they formed a varsity, junior varsity and modified program over the last seven years. Providing a place for 45-50 players, year after year, the program flourished with a number of undefeated teams, several tournament championships and an appearance by the varsity team in states for club programs three years ago. ?
?The most recent success was the junior varsity team winning the league championship last season. ??B?u?t? ?t?h?rough it all, the desire of the players to play in Section 1 never? ?s?e?e?m?e?d? ?to ?w?a?v?e?r???. As a result, the varsity ?t?e?a?m? will be playing in Section 1 for the 2011-2012 season. The schedule includes Carmel, Lakeland/Panas, Mahopac, Somers/North Salem, Yorktown, Brewster, JFK/Putnam Valley, John Jay-??Cross River, and Pawling.
