Croton's Teamwork Beats Westlake Boys' Basketball

THORNWOOD, N.Y. – The Croton boys' basketball team had four players score in double figures, led by Wes Turner and Ian Thom with 15 points, and the Tigers built a 16-point halftime lead Tuesday en route to a 62-49 victory at Westlake High School.

Croton (9-2) outscored the Wildcats 25-7 in the second quarter to build a 37-21 halftime lead and played strong defense throughout. Croton has won six of its last seven games.

Aaron Thompson scored 12 points, handed out six assists and grabbed eight rebounds, and Rob Simmons added 11 points and a career-best 15 rebounds for the winners.

Tigers coach Bill Thom said his team “woke up in the second quarter” and cited Brady Aarons and Tyler Gilman for their all-around play.

Croton hosts a strong Briarcliff team Thursday at 6:15 p.m.
