Croton Pitchers Combine for Florida No-Hitter

VERO BEACH, Fla. – Brandon Glover, Christian Doughty and Dennis Traditi formed a trio of strong arms Saturday, throwing a combined no-hitter to lead Croton High School to a 6-1 scrimmage training victory over Holy Family (Minnesota) the first game of the Tigers’ spring trip to Florida.

“Control was a bit of an issue for Brandon as he had difficulty locating his fastball,” Tigers coach Eric Rosen said of starting pitcher Glover. “But he battled through it using his change-up to keep the Minnesota hitters off balance.”

Glover pitched 4 1/3 innings before loading the bases with one out in the fifth inning and giving way to reliever Doughty, who struck out two batters to escape further trouble. Doughty struck out five in his two innings of work.

Traditi, the Tigers captain, pitched the seventh inning, striking out three Holy Family batters. Traditi and Brian Soares led the offense, reaching base seven of their eight times to the plate and scoring four of the Tigers six runs.

The Tigers continue their road trip with a Sunday doubleheader against local New York area teams Carmel and John Jay East Fishkill in Vero Beach.
