Croton Junior Varsity Baseball Shows Promise

CROTON-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. – The revival of Croton High School baseball under first-year coach Eric Rosen and his staff has inspired the school’s underclassmen on the junior varsity team.

Junior varsity head coach Ryan Brunelle has his young Tigers off to a good start with a 2-1 record after their most recent win. The Tigers junior varsity had another strong showing in Tuesday’s impressive 8-2 victory over John Jay with left-handed pitcher Scott Giordano going the distance for the win backed by a solid offense led by shortstop Brian Colombini.

Izaak Cohen busted out of an early season slump with a blast that rolled to the wall for a double and Leo DiRusso continued his early-season hot hitting.

The junior varsity next plays at Byram Hills Thursday.
