THORNWOOD, N.Y. -- David Occhipinti and Tommy Schultz powered Croton to a 52-24 win over host Westlake in a Conference II League A wrestling match Tuesday.
The Tigers won the league title with a 4-0 record and improved to 18-8 this season.
This is a well-deserved accomplishment for this team partly because two teams in our league are Division 1 schools -- Ossining and Byram Hills, said Croton coach Sam Occhipinti, who is David's father. This has been a team goal for us since the beginning of the season. David Occhipinti, who earlier this season became Crotons all-time wins leader, pinned his opponent in the 132-pound match to close out the day. Schultz scored a major decision in the 106-pound bout.
