Cortlandt Scores 9-7 Win In Baseball

CORTLANDT, N.Y. -- Defense and pitching carried Cortlandt to an early lead and an eventual 9-7 win over Bedford Hills in a Westchester-Putnam Baseball Association 12-and-under game on Thursday.

Keith Koski struck out four and allowed one run in three innings to earn the win, as Cortlandt raced to a 9-1 lead after three innings. He was aided by a fine defensive play by Ray Morris in the third inning, who took a home run away from a Bedford Hills player. Trevor Dowling also helped out Koski, snaring a line drive and doubling the runner off of first base.

Dowling also led the offensive charge, hitting two home runs and driving in four runs. Jonathan Chung went 3 for 3, including an RBI double, and scored twice. Matthew Luis finished with two hits.
