Chief Technology Officer at Hen Hud Honored

MONTROSE, N.Y. – Matthew Swerdloff, Hendrick Hudson’s Chief Technology Officer, was presented with the “Extra-Mile” Award by the Hendrick Hudson Superintendent and Board of Education on Wednesday night. Swerdloff was presented the award for consistently helping the district with its technology needs on a tight budget.

“This is a really difficult time in public education,” said Swerdloff, “I think it’s important to recognize people who are doing things different and well.” He added that he wished he could break his award into “1,000 pieces,” because “behind every successful leader is a great team.”

Swerdloff also recounted the state of the Frank G. Lindsey computer lab, upon his arrival in the district in 2004. He said the computer didn’t match, at least half didn’t work, and were all donated by the community. The Frank G. Lindsey computer lab is now updated with a computer lab capable of accommodating an entire classroom.

“He respects the fact that in challenging times administrators have to find a way to get it done,” said Superintendent Dan McCann.
