Majestic Katonah Home Features European Details

KATONAH, N.Y. -- Houlihan Lawrence agent Alicia Albano calls a four-bedroom listing in Katonah “The Majestic.” While it’s an unofficial name, Albano’s moniker accurately describes the European Manor estate.

“I love everything about it,’’ Albano said. “It’s gorgeous, they paid attention every detail. The quality is extraordinary.”

The home was built in 2011 and includes 5.1 bathrooms, 1.96 acres and 8,417 square feet of living space. The listing address is not being disclosed, and is listed for $2.5 million.

Albano said two rooms in particular standout, the kitchen and the master suite.

The kitchen includes a granite clad center island and custom tile backsplash from Turkey. It includes state-of-the-art appliances, including multiple ovens. It leads to an expansive stone terrace, comfortable family room with fireplace and formal dining room with tray ceiling.

The first floor also includes a billiard room and stately home office.

The master bedroom is larger than many city apartments, Albano said. It features two walk-in closets, dressing room, marble clad bathroom with radiant heated floors, and private balcony.

“When people come to visit, that’s one room that always impresses them,’’ Albano said. “Even the closets are bigger than most people’s bedrooms. People are shocked at how huge it is.”

The home also includes Brazilian mahogany doors, sparklin hardwood floors, graceful arches, huge ceilings and stunning terraces off of the main rooms.

"It is in no way your typical cookie cutter colonial. It’s a very European looking house,’’ Albano said. “It feels like you’re living in a villa in Europe. Everyone who sees it is blown away by the craftsmanship and detail.”

The home sits on a quiet cul-de-sac, but is convenient to Interstate 684, the Saw Mill Parkway and a Metro-North station.

Albano said the home’s price is remarkably valued, and points out the taxes, $37,000, are not unreasonable given the size of the home, property and locale. Most importantly, however, the next buyer will be purchasing turn-key living with worldly amenities.

“As nice as the home photographs, it doesn’t do it justice,’’ Albano said. “It feels like a mansion from The Great Gatsby. It really is a majestic home.”
