Croton: Who's On Your Ballot

CROTON-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. – As we near the election, The Croton Daily Voice is committed to bringing you complete election coverage and answers. Check out this list of who's going to be on your ballot.

U.S. Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-Saratoga) is seeking re-election, and is running against challenger Wendy Long (R-Manhattan), a litigator.

Rep. Nita Lowey (D-Harrison) is seeking re-election to the House of Representatives, against opponent Joe Carvin (R-Rye) in the 17th Congressional District. This newly redrawn district extends from Dobbs Ferry to Peekskill, including Yorktown, Cortlandt and Croton.

New York state Sen. Greg Ball (R- Patterson) is seeking re-election against Justin Wagner (D-Croton), in the newly redrawn 40th Senate District. The new district extends from Beekman, north of Patterson, to Mount Pleasant, and includes Cortlandt, Somers, Yorktown, Peekskill, Mount Kisco, Pound Ridge, Lewisboro, North Salem and New Castle.

New York Assembly member Sandy Galef (D-Ossining) is running for re-election against Kim Izzarelli (R-Briarcliff), in the newly redrawn 95th Assembly District. This district includes Peekskill, Cortlandt, Ossining, and parts of Putnam and Dutchess counties.

Croton Trustee Ann Gallelli (D) is running for re-election with Kevin Davis (D), after an unprecedented three-way Democratic primary in Croton's first fall electoral season. Croton retiree Virginia Calcutti (D) announced Thursday that she will run as a write-in candidate with the support of a "bipartisan committee."

Oct. 12 is the last day to mail in applications to the Westchester County Board of Elections, and Oct. 17 is the last day to have change of address forms into the county Board of Elections. Check out the Westchester County polling place locator if you're looking for where you should vote.
