Cortlandt Voters Head To The Polls Tuesday For Primary Elections

CORTLANDT, N.Y. – Polls for Cortlandt’s primary election open at 6 a.m. and close at 9 p.m. Tuesday, with contested races for two seats on the Town Board and for the position of Town Justice.

With two seats available for election on the Cortlandt Town Board, four candidates are running on both the Democratic and Independence ballots. Seth Freach, Domenic Volpe, Debra Carter-Costello and Brian Pugh each will appear on the Democratic ticket. Theresa Knickerbocker, Pugh, Volpe and John Lentini will appear on the Independence ticket.

Shari Gordon and incumbent Gerry Klein will battle for the town justice post on the Conservative and Working Families ballots.

Additionally, Buchanan resident Duane Jackson is running on the Independence ticket for the District 1 seat on the Westchester County Board of Legislators. County Legislator Catherine Borgia is running on the Independence ticket to keep her District 9 seat.  

Both districts represent different parts of Cortlandt. Voters also have the option of writing in a candidate for the District 1 or District 9 seats.
