Police Charge Verplanck Man With Drug Possession

YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y. – A 20-year old Verplanck man was charged Thursday night with possession of Ecstasy and marijuana, the Yorktown Police Department reported.

According to the report, Johnny I. Panama-Cabrera was seen by police allegedly failing to stop at a red light along Route 6. When officers performed a vehicle and traffic stop, MDMA/Ecstasy and marijuana were allegedly in the car.

Panama-Cabrera was charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana and disobeying a steady red light.

He was released on $100 bail after processing and ordered to appear in Yorktown Justice Court on Aug. 13.
