The clerk continued to struggle with the suspect outside of the store. The suspect discharged one round from his shotgun that hit the ground, police said.
The suspect is described as standing 5-feet, 10-inches tall with a thin build. He was wearing a camouflage mask and clothing at the time of the attempted robbery. The suspect fled the scene northbound on Route 9 in a dark colored vehicle with orange New York plates, police said.
