Report: Cortlandt Manor DWI Suspect Flees Scene After Striking Motorcycle

CORTLANDT, N.Y. – A 43-year-old Cortlandt Manor man was arrested and charged recently with driving while intoxicated when he fled the scene after he struck a motorcycle with his vehicle on Route 9, the New York State Police announced this week.

The motorcyclist involved in an accident in Cortlandt suffered minor injuries and is expected to make a full recovery, police said.

John Cherneck was charged Sept. 28 with DWI, refusing to submit to a chemical test and leaving the scene of a personal injury accident, police said.

Cherneck is scheduled to appear in Town of Cortlandt Court on Friday, Oct. 11 at 9 a.m.
