Peekskill Woman Held On Grand Larceny Charge

CORTLANDT, N.Y. — A Peekskill woman accused of grand larceny, criminal possession of stolen property and bail jumping was being held in Westchester County Jail following a traffic stop, according to Westchester County Police.

Westchester County Police said a Peekskill woman was detained after a traffic stop revealed she had four active warrants.

Jessica Maffettone, 33, of Peekskill, was taken into custody by New York State Police on an active bench warrant issued by the Westchester County Police. A computer check revealed Maffettone had four active warrants after she was stopped for a traffic violation by a state trooper, police said.

In addition to felony grand larceny, felony criminal possession of stolen property, felony bail jumping, Maffettone had a warrant charging misdemeanor bail jumping, police said. She was arraigned in Peekskill City County and remanded to Westchester County Jail pending a court appearance. The incident was reported June 27 at 4:15 p.m.

• Westchester County Police say a man estranged from his wife asked police to escort him into his wife's home to retrieve personal belonging. Police said the wife held an order of protection against the man. They told the man he wouldn't be able to return to the house until he obtained a court order allowing him to enter escorted by police. The incident was reported Sunday, June 24.
