Man Nabbed With Cocaine After Crashing On Taconic, Police Say

LAGRANGE, N.Y. – A Brooklyn man faces charges of criminal possession of a controlled substance after being in a one-car crash on the Taconic State Parkway in LaGrange early Tuesday morning.

State Police say Rene Llanos drove off the Taconic State Parkway had nearly 16 grams of cocaine on him when he was arrested.

Rene L. Llanos, 28, was traveling northbound at around 2:30 a.m. when his vehicle went off the roadway and ended up in a wooded area in the center median.

When troopers arrived, they discovered Llanos was in possession of almost 16 grams of cocaine.

He was charged with third-degree criminal possession and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bail or $100,000 bond.

Llanos is scheduled to appear at the LaGrange Town Court on Friday, Dec. 18..
