A 57-year-old Putnam County man who brandished a knife during a confrontation at the Cortlandt Train Station is facing charges, state police announced Wednesday.

Troopers who were called to the station at 6:05 p.m., Friday, Jan. 5 found that Richard H. Stiehl of Garrison initiated a confrontation, produced a knife, and threatened to kill the victim, state police said.

Stiehl was charged with menacing in the second degree and criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree, both Class A misdemeanors.

Stiehl was arraigned before the town of Cortlandt Court and released on his own recognizance.
