Croton-On-Hudson Fire Department Responds To Calls Minutes Apart

CROTON-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. -- The Croton-on-Hudson Fire Department responded to back-to-back dispatches that came just minutes apart on Friday night.

During the first incident, Croton Fire, Croton-On-Hudson Emergency Medical Services, Croton Police and the Paramedic Fly Car from the Ossining Volunteer Ambulance Corps were dispatched to the area of Pronto Pizza at 440 South Riverside Avenue for a pedestrian struck by a car at 8:55 p.m., according to officials.

The incident was reportedly minor, and was left in the hands of EMS and police; the Fire Department cleared within 4 minutes.

A minute later, however, firefighters were dispatched to an alarm sounding at a Hessian Hills Road home, officials report.

The alarm turned out to be triggered by BBQ smoke.

Car 2081, car 2082, car 2089, engine 118, engine 120, tower ladder 44 and rescue 18 took part in the back-to-back runs.
