Firefighters arrived and saw the watercraft with two people on it, which was stalled out and being carried about on the river just north of the Half Moon Bay Docks. Before county police Marine 12 could reach them from their dock at Croton Yacht Club, the rough conditions brought the distressed vessel close to shore and at risk of crashing into the rocky embankment.

Four members donned water rescue gear and secured the Jet-Ski, guiding it to the docks at Half Moon Bay. County police Marine 2 arrived shortly after and assisted the male and female riders back to land.
