Michael Schmidt, 26, allegedly cut the catalytic converters from two of the U-Haul trucks and sold them to a scrap yard for cash. The two parts were valued at over $4,000, according to state police.
Police also allege that Schmidt violated an order of protection by being in the company of a specific woman. He was charged with criminal possession of stolen property and criminal contempt, police said.
Schmidt was held in lieu of $15,000 bail and is scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday, July 30, according to authorities.
