Robert Malaspina, 61, Of Cortlandt Manor

CORTLANDT MANOR, N.Y. – Robert A. Malaspina of Cortlandt Manor died Feb. 5 in Myrtle Beach, S.C. He was 61.

Malaspina worked as an operations manager for Metro North Railroad before retiring two years ago. He also owned and operated Golf Link, making custom golf clubs and accessories.

He was born March 2, 1951, in Italy to Peter and Mary Zinno Malaspina. He attended local area schools and Park College. On Dec. 30, 1970, he married Sharon Fields at Assumption Church in Peekskill.

Locally, he was a member of the Christopher Columbus Society, where he was serving as third counselor.

Malaspina is survived by his wife; his mother, Mary, of Peekskill; three children, Christopher (Tara) Malaspina, of Wappingers Falls, N.Y., Dennis (Judy) Malaspina, of Hamilton, N.J., and Andrea Malaspina, of Cortlandt Manor; two sisters; Anna Maria (Joseph) Smith, of Peekskill, and Cecilia (Frank) Pugliese of Peekskill; two brothers, Frank (Helene) Malaspina of Cortlandt Manor, and Peter Malaspina of Buchanan; and a granddaughter.

He is also survived by a sister-in-law, Roseann (Mark) Sullivan; an aunt and 12 nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father.

Visitation is from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Joseph F. Nardone Funeral Home in Peekskill. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at Assumption Church. A private cremation service will follow.
