CORTLANDT MANOR, N.Y. - Robert James Murray of Cortlandt Manor died May 20. He was 88.
Murray was born March 11, 1925, in New York to Francis and Marian Murray. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corp for two and a half years in the European Theatre during World War II and flew 35 missions. He was awarded the EAMA ribbon with three Bronze Stars, Good Conduct Medal, and the Air Medal.
Murray is survived by his wife, Jeanette Sampino Murray of Cortlandt Manor; daughters, Gail Doerr of Clarkstown, Md., and Sherrill Zucker of Danbury Conn.; four grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
Calling hours are Wednesday, May 22 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Yorktown Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 23 at the funeral home. Interment to follow at Hillside Cemetery.
