Lucy Rose Margiotta, 85, Longtime Verplanck Resident

VERPLANCK, N.Y. -- Lucy Rose Margiotta, a longtime Verplanck resident, died Dec.16. She was 85

Margiotta was born Dec. 13, 1930, in Manhattan, to her Frank and Veronica Sepi Lombardi. She married Victor Gerard "Jerry" Margiotta on May 2, 1953.

Margiotta, her husband and their children owned and operated the Paradise Restaurant in Verplanck. In 2008, Margiotta received the Italian-American Woman of Distinction from the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Society in Verplanck.

Margiotta is survived by her husband, Jerry, and her 10 children, Anthony Margiotta, of Lagrangeville, Marie Victoria Wolpert, of Athens, N.Y., Frank Margiotta , of Phoenix, Ariz., Michael Margiotta, of Lagrange, Gerard Margiotta, of Rensselaer, N.Y., James Margiotta, of Peoria, Ariz., John Margiotta, of Verplanck, Victor Margiotta, of Verplanck, Joseph Margiotta, of Verplanck and Charles Margiotta, of Virginia.

There will be a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Patrick's Church, 240 11th St., Verplanck. Interment will follow at St. Patrick's Cemetery
