Lois Lee, 93, Former Cortlandt Teacher

CORTLANDT MANOR, N.Y. – Lois Saphir Lee, a longtime resident of Furnace Dock Road in Cortlandt Manor, died Dec. 10 at her home in Boca Raton, Fla. She was 93.

A graduate of Horace Mann School and Barnard College, Lee worked as a teacher in the Croton school system for many years. She was also a member of the Central School District school board in Montrose.

She was an avid horticulturalist and a advocate for driving safety among the elderly.

Lee is survived by her husband of 70 years, Arthur I. Lee; a daughter, Ellen L. Pollock, of Boca Raton; a son, David H. Lee, of Chestnut Hill, Mass.; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
