Marx was born Sept. 8, 1925, to Louis and Angela Hanzl Marx in Pennsylvania. He was raised and educated in the Bronx. He was a self-employed house painter and carpenter throughout Westchester County and New York City for more than 40 years. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and fought in the Pacific. He was a past president and member of the Holy Name Society at St. Bartholomew's Church where he was a parishioner. Recently, he was a volunteer at the Hudson Valley Hospital Center for several years.
Marx is survived by his daughters, Susan Beck (Thomas) of Cortlandt Manor, Jennifer Sessions (David) of Pleasantville and Marianne Killackey (Robert) of Torrington, Conn.; seven grandchildren; a cousin; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rosemary; and sister, Hilda Pollack.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 4 in St. Bartholomew's Church. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
