Carmella Esposito, 85, Lifelong Croton Resident

CROTON-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. – Carmella F. Esposito of Croton-on-Hudson died Aug. 4. She was 85.

Esposito was born Oct. 4, 1926 in Croton-on-Hudson to Joseph and Gilda Randazzo Germinaro Sr. She retired as secretary to the principal of Croton-Harmon High School. Affectionately known as "Millie," she was a lifelong and active parishioner of Holy Name of Mary Church in Croton. 

A Eucharistic minister, she was a member of the RCIA. She took part in the Corner Stone Retreat in the parish and was a baker for the Loaves and Fishes program to feed the poor. 

Esposito is survived by two sons, Paul (Elissa) Esposito and Robert Esposito; a daughter, Donna Esposito; two sisters, Marie Germinaro and Gilda "Judy" McHale; two grandchildren and seven nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Paul J. Esposito Jr., on Oct. 13, 1996; and a brother, Joseph "Bubby" Germinaro Jr., on June 24, 2010. 

Visitation will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Edward F. Carter Funeral Home in Croton-on-Hudson. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Name of Mary Church in Croton. Burial will follow at Bethel Cemetery in Croton.
