He and a 45-year-old Pleasant Valley man were working on a train early Friday morning when they both were injured, the MTA said.
The unidentified 45-year-old suffered first-degree, or superficial, burns. He was treated at the Westchester County Medical Center in Vahalla and released, the MTA said.
The 27-year-old, whom the MTA also did not identify, suffered first-, second-, and third-degree burns.
Third-degree burns are the most serious as they involve wounds that extend through all the skin’s layers.
The MTA did not have the 27-year-old’s exact condition.
