Croton Cops: Woman Attacked at Ossining Train Station

CROTON-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. – Police say a woman arrived by taxi at the Croton-Harmon train station Monday night with a ripped shirt, and saying she was attacked at the Ossining train station.

The Beacon resident said she and her attacker exited the Metro-North train at the Ossining train station, where the man ripped her shirt off. The complainant described her attacker as a black male in his 30s, wearing a black hooded sweat with the word “zero” and a degree symbol on the sweatshirt. 

The matter was turned over to the Metro-Transit Authority police, who could not be reached for further comment.

 

In other police news:

DWI Croton Police report at approximately 1:30 a.m. on Feb. 4, John Levandowski, 59, of Welcher Avenue, was charged with DWI, operating a vehicle with more than .08 blood alcohol content, and driving over safety markings. He was released on $100 bail, and is due in Croton Justice Court on Feb 15.

Brush Fire Croton Police Report at approximately 2 p.m. on Feb. 6, Croton Fire Department was dispatched to a brush fire on Route 9 northbound and Municipal Place in the Village of Croton. Croton Fire Department shut down the road temporarily, it was reopened in about a half an hour after being extinguished.

Burglary A caller reported someone broke into his garden supply store sometime the night before Feb. 8. A window was broken to allow entry to the shop, and several chain saws and lawn care supplies were removed. The caller also reported his truck, parked at the garden supply store, had been broken into and part of the dashboard removed. The matter is under investigation.

Vandalism A caller said her tires had been vandalized three times in the last three months at the Croton Library, a nail was found in each tire the first two times, and a razor blade was used during the most recent vandalism, which was reported at about 2 p.m. on Feb. 7. The matter is under investigation.
