What's Happening This Week in Cortlandt

CORTLANDT, N.Y. – School districts and villages are busy finalizing their budgets, which affect all taxpayers in a district. The Hendrick Hudson and Croton-Harmon School Districts are likely to adopt their budget proposals soon, before the May public vote on those budgets. Village boards are holding public hearings and work sessions to finalize budgets the board will approve in the near future.  

Monday, April 9

Croton Budget Public Hearing and Work Session: 7:30 p.m. The public can give their input into the proposed budget on April 9, and trustees will discuss the proposed Harmon Rezoning laws. Stanley H. Kellerhouse Municipal Building, 1 Van Wyck St., Croton-on-Hudson, N.Y.

Cortlandt Town Board Work Session: 7 p.m. Council members for the Cortlandt Town Board will discuss current issues in the town, no legislative action will likely be taken. Cortlandt Town Hall, 1 Heady St., Cortlandt Manor, N.Y.

Tuesday, April 10

Croton Planning Board: 8 p.m. Trustees will discuss proposed construction in the village and other building activities in the village. Stanley H. Kellerhouse Municipal Building.

Buchanan Budget Hearing: 7:30 p.m. Trustees will hold their first budget hearing in Buchanan Village Hall, 236 Tate Ave., Buchanan, N.Y.

Wednesday, April 11

Croton Budget Work Session: 7:30 p.m. Trustees will discuss the village’s proposed budget, and possible changes. Stanley H. Kellerhouse Municipal Building.

Hendrick Hudson Board of Education: 7:30 p.m. The board will meet at Hendrick Hudson High School and will likely discuss the upcoming budget vote. The high school is located at 2166 Albany Post Road, Montrose, N.Y., the meeting will take place in the library.   

Thursday, April 12

Croton-Harmon Board of Education Budget Adoption: The board will hold a regular business meeting and adopt the budget for the 2012-13 fiscal year. The public vote on the budget will take place May 15.
